What your holiday price includes:

• Standard class return travel to your chosen destination with Eurostar and TGV from London St Pancras, Ebsfleet or Ashford International.

• Hotel accommodation with breakfast as specified, based on two people sharing a twin/double room.

• All taxes and service charges. Hotels in Paris will charge a tourist tax which must be paid locally (since 1 July 2015) hotels in the Provinces may charge a small tourist tax but we will notify you.

• Travel pack.*

• 24-hour emergency support.

• Metro tickets to your hotel in Paris and across Paris for inter-station transfers.

• All prices are per person and all supplements are per night. Hotel prices can vary through the year according to the seasons but special events can also push prices up, however the reverse can also happen at certain times so we will provide you with an up to the minute quote before you book. To further complicate matters some hotels have introduced Dynamic pricing, whereby the price we are charged varies according to demand so prices can increase but equally they can decrease.

Hand-picked hotels

Our featured hotels have been carefully chosen to provide consistently high standards of quality and service. There are options to suit all budgets: 2, 3, 4 and 5 star establishments. Star ratings are those awarded by the relevant French or Belgian authority. All hotel rooms have en-suite bathrooms with bath or shower, TV and telephone. Many hotels have air-conditioning (see individual hotel details) and all have lifts unless otherwise stated.

 ‘Hotel Only’ option

If you would prefer to make your own way to your chosen holiday destination, you can choose our ‘Hotel Only’ option. Simply take the ‘extra night’ price quoted in the price tables and multiply this by the number of nights you wish to stay (minimum stay of 2 nights). A booking fee of £15 per person applies (max. £45).

Timetable Information

We do not provide timetable information on this site as we will discuss your requirements in detail when you make your enquiry or when you book. However, for timetable information in a digestible form we suggest you consult our friends at www.seat61.com

UK rail connections to London prior to joining Eurostar

Off-Peak fares are available, even in the expensive Monday-Friday business peaks, when you are connecting with Eurostar services. You need to book a ticket through to London International (CIV) which also covers you if your train is late or if Eurostar is late on your inward journey even if your UK reservation is on a train-specific ticket. Tickets to London International also include the Underground.

Tickets can be bought in person at your local station but you may need to either show your tickets or the ticket locator which FTS will provide. To book online try www.loco2.com (type in "London International CIV" as your destination, CIV will be shown in the fare details) or www.raileasy.com (type in "London International- for Eurostar- as your destination) a small fee applies.

Your journey by train

There is a minimum check-in time of 30 minutes at St Pancras, Ebsfleet or Ashford and the baggage allowance is two suitcases and one piece of hand luggage per person (not for under 4s'). Eurostar and TGV (Train a Grande Vitesse) trains are equipped with a buffet bar serving hot meals, snacks and drinks and are air-conditioned. Many TGV trains are on two levels (duplex) so if you do not want to be booked on the top level tell us, as although the view is much better your luggage does have to be taken up with you. Seat reservations are always made for you on all main line services.

Provincial destiantions can always be reached with a change of station in Paris where we provide step by step directions as well as the Metro/RER/Bus ticket to speed the journey between stations. Some destinations can be easily reached via Lille, where a simple change of platform is all that is needed.

Missed connections. If your train is delayed then your ticket will be amended to allow you to travel on the next available service at no additional cost. This applies to both Eurostar and TGV trains.

Eurostar direct from London to Lyon, Avignon and Marseille

A great new addition to Eurostar's already excellent services. A year round service operating daily in  5 July & August (except Tuesday & Wednesday), on Mon/Fri/Sat from 25th March until end October,  and Saturdays only during the rest of the year. Lyon takes 4h 40 mins, Avignon 5h 50 mins and Marseille 6h 25 mins.

Luggage Service

Have you ever thought of forwarding your luggage on to your hotel and doing the same on the return home? Well, with the help of Luggage Mule you really can travel light. Your  suitcases (up to 39Kg per case) can be sent in advance to your hotel to await your arrival.

Luggage tracking is free, as is insurance cover in the event of damage to you luggage. Contact them on 9161 870 2364 or 2175 or book online at www.luggagemule.co.uk. Its great value.

Car Hire

Car hire can be booked with most of our holidays so do ask for a quote when you book, as prices and special offers vary through the year according to the chosen supplier.

Our prices include unlimited mileage, third-party cover, collision & theft waiver and tax. Cars range from small 2-door hatchbacks to large saloon cars, all generally with air-conditioning; automatics are an option. Drivers must be over 24 (19-24 year olds pay extra) and have a full, clean British Driving Licence held for at least three years and be in possession of a credit card. There is no upper age limit.  It is possible to pick up the car from one place and return it to another; we will advise you of the additional amount, to be paid locally.

Transfers in Paris, Station to hotel or station to station.

For up to 4 people a car can be pre-booked to meet you at the station and will cost from £47 per journey.

Disabled customers

Generally the more modern hotels provide adapted rooms and good access for disabled customers but standards are not as in the UK. As a general rule, older style hotels are less suitable. Prices may well vary depending on the rail content of your holiday. Please call for advice.

Passports

A full 10 year passport is required for travellers to Europe. Application forms can be obtained from the Post Office. UK passport holders do not require visas but other nationalities may and they should check with the French Consulate (0207 073 1200) or go to www.consulfrance-londres.org Please note that it is your responsability to ensure that you have the correct documentation for travel and we cannot accept any liability if you fail to do this.

Insurance and Health cover

Insurance cover is strongly recommended, both to cover you against cancellation charges and the unexpected happening whilst you are abroad: We would recommend that you obtain a copy of the Department of Health’s leaflet ‘Health Advice for Travellers’ (available from your Travel Agent, most Post Offices or Department of Health) for any specific health requirements for France. The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) provides you with reciprocal health cover when in Europe. Application forms can be obtained from the Post Office or from www.ehic.org.uk and if already in possession of a card do check it is still valid.
